Thanks
to funding from the Single Community Programme in 2005 - 2006 Better
Braybrooke did the following:
- Designed
and distributed the Better Braybrooke membership leaflet to all
2,500 households in the ward to enable a wider range of people to
become involved in our activities.

Recruited 35 new members. All new members received a membership
information package with a range of leaflets from local community
groups and the council relating to environmental issues, maps of
Alexandra Park and the ward, a free recipe book, and tulip bulbs
recycled from Alexandra Park.
- Bought
IT equipment including a printer, laptop and digital camera and
received the donation of a mobile phone.
- Paid
the annual insurance for the Pocket Park and items of IT equipment.
- Had
a new logo designed.
- Produced
a newsletter with local information to raise awareness of the group’s
activities which was distributed via e-mail and by hand to members.
- Held
8 meetings with up to 30 residents attending, with speakers including
Neighbourhood Renewal and the Stop Smoking Service.
- Attended
the Area Management Conference in the town hall in order to work
effectively with statutory agencies.
- Designed
a Better Braybrooke website to improve communications and paid for
5 years hosting.
- Designed
a calendar with photos of the local area and useful information
about local services, which was distributed to all households in
Braybrooke.
- Undertaken
around 500 hours of voluntary work including opening and locking
the park, attending meetings and co-ordinating activities.
